SOUTH BERKELEY’S HEIRLOOM GARDEN FROM HISTORICAL ROOTS TO PRESENT DAY OPPORTUNITIES

Event Details

  • Date:

The We Bee Gardeners gave a 45 minute presentation on the Ashby Community Garden at the Soil Not OilSNO conference, held in Richmond CA on Labor Day weekend.

We shared a historical account of how the land at the Ashby Community Garden has evolved over the years in South Berkeley. Where there was once mainly farmland to our present day urban setting. How a small piece of land can speak volumes about how nurturing the soil and encouraging pollinators, in turn brings abundance and community involvement. Our urban garden provides an oasis that supports the local ecosystem for all creatures large and small.
